SwimSet is a training-session builder for swim and bike sessions, made to need as little of your data as possible. There's no account, no login, and nothing personal required to use it.
You don't create an account or give us your name, email, or any personal information to build and use a session. We don't ask for it, so we don't have it. That's true for both the swim builder and the bike builder. Even your FTP stays on your device.
Sessions you build and save, swim or bike, are stored locally in your own browser (using localStorage). They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes them.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see roughly how many people visit SwimSet and which pages they use. There are no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no fingerprinting. It doesn't collect anything that identifies you personally, only aggregate figures such as page views, the site that referred you, and rough country and device type.
When you download a Garmin (.FIT) file or send a workout to a Garmin watch or Edge head unit, that happens through your own device and Garmin's systems. SwimSet doesn't receive or store the workout, and once it reaches Garmin, Garmin's handling of your data is governed by Garmin's own privacy policy.
If you choose to connect Strava, SwimSet can rename your swim on Strava after it syncs, so it shows your session's name and "Swum with SwimSet" instead of "Lunch Swim". It's entirely opt-in. When you connect, you authorise SwimSet with Strava by approving it on Strava's own site, and we store only the resulting access token, a random identifier for your browser or app, and, for up to 12 hours, the title of a session you've sent to your watch. We read a new activity only to check it's a swim, and we write only its name and description. We never see your other activities, your location data, or your Strava profile beyond what Strava includes in the authorisation. Disconnect any time from Strava's app settings. Strava tells us, and we delete the stored token immediately. If you never connect Strava, none of this applies and nothing is sent.
When you share a session, the whole workout is encoded into the link itself. There's no server copy and nothing is uploaded. Only the people you send the link to can see it, and the session contains no personal information (just the sets or blocks you wrote).
SwimSet doesn't use tracking cookies. Your browser stores your saved sessions locally, and a service worker caches the app so it works offline. Neither is used to track you.
The site is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, and analytics are provided by Cloudflare. The optional Strava connection runs on Cloudflare Workers and talks to Strava's API. We don't sell or share your data, and there are no advertisements on SwimSet.
SwimSet isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect their personal data.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
